The insolvency proceedings have been initiated in respect of the Furnace Fabrica (India) Limited, Corporate Debtor having Registered Office at Opposite MILMA Dairy, Koonamthai, Edapally, Kochi, Kerala, India-682024, under Section 7 of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016 (“Code”) by an order having CP (IB)/14/KOB/2023 dated 1 st November, 2023 of Hon’ble National Company Law Tribunal, Kochi Bench, (“NCLT”) and the undersigned Mr. Alok Kumar Agarwal, having IP Registration No. IBBI/IPA-001/IP- P00059/2017-2018/10137, has been appointed as the Interim Resolution Professional (IRP) for conducting the CIRP in the matter of the Corporate Debtor.
In the initial period, the business was started by two promoters, Mr. A. Basheeruddin and Dr. B. Prasad, was by way of a partnership firm in the name and style of M/s. Furnace Fabrica. Thereafter, it was incorporated as Private Limited Company on December 03, 1985, by the name of Furnace Fabrica (Bombay) Private Limited, later converted to Limited Company on 28 th July 1994, and subsequently changed its name to Furnace Fabrica (India) Limited on 8 th August 1996.
Presently, the Corporate Debtor is having its registered office at opposite to MILMA Dairy, Edapally, Kochi, Kerala, and its corporate office at C/15, TTC MIDC Area Pawane Village, Thane-Belapur Road, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
It is engaged in the business of engineering, procurement, and construction services on a turnkey basis for process plants in fertilizer, iron & steel, zinc, copper, alumina, sulphuric acid, chemicals, cement, petroleum & petrochemical industries, and tankage solutions. It has a technology tie-up with Outotec GmbH, Germany (formerly, Lurgi Metallurgie GmbH), for building sulphuric acid plants in India.
The Corporate Debtor is an EPC Service Provider to the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical Fertilizer and Mining / Metal processing industry - with a particularly strong track record in delivery of Sulphuric Acid Plants and Ore Processing Furnaces. Since 1994 Corporate Debtor has been an exclusive licensee of Outotec GmbH (formerly Lurgi Metallurgie) for Sulphuric Acid Technology in the subcontinent and on a case-to-case basis outside the sub-continent. The Corporate Debtor was also having joint venture with Ramky Infrastructure Limited.
